Razor Bumps vs. Ingrowns
They look similar, but they're not quite the same thing.
Both show up as small red bumps after hair removal, which is why they're so often confused.
Razor bumps
Razor bumps — sometimes called razor burn — are general irritation from friction. They tend to appear quickly after shaving and often feel itchy or stingy across an area.
Ingrown hairs
An ingrown is a specific hair growing back into the skin. You may see a single raised bump, sometimes with a visible hair trapped underneath.
Caring for both
Soothe with a cool compress and a fragrance-free moisturiser. Let skin rest from shaving for a few days if you can. Use a sharp blade and go with the grain next time.
If bumps are frequent, it's worth looking at the underlying cause — the method of hair removal itself.
