Frequently Asked
Everything clients ask before their first visit — prep, comfort, sessions, and aftercare, answered plainly.
Before you book
Where is Ammonite Laser Spa located?+
We are at 1 Boerum Place, Suite 204 — Salon at JC, Brooklyn, NY, minutes from Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill, DUMBO, and Downtown Brooklyn.
How do I book an appointment?+
Send an inquiry through the contact page, email ammonitelaserspa369@gmail.com, or call or text +1 718 813 2076. We confirm every request personally.
Do you offer consultations before treatment?+
Yes. Every first visit begins with a consultation where we map your skin type, goals, and history so your protocol is calibrated to you.
Are treatments safe for deeper skin tones?+
Our laser technology is calibrated per skin tone, and settings are adjusted at every visit. We will always tell you honestly if a treatment is not right for your skin.
How should I prepare in general?+
Arrive with clean skin, avoid sun and self-tanner for two weeks, and pause retinoids and exfoliating acids for a few days. Each treatment page lists its own prep steps.
What if I need to reschedule?+
Let us know at least 24 hours ahead by call, text, or email and we will move your appointment with no fuss.
Laser Hair Removal
View treatmentHow many sessions will I need?+
Most areas need 6–8 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart, because hair only responds while it is in its active growth phase.
Does it hurt?+
Most clients describe a warm snap. Cooling air runs throughout the session to keep the skin comfortable.
Is it safe for deeper skin tones?+
Yes. Settings are calibrated to your skin tone and hair type during consultation.
Can I shave between sessions?+
Yes — shaving is encouraged. Waxing, plucking, and threading are not, as they remove the follicle the laser targets.
Laser Rejuvenation
View treatmentIs there any downtime?+
None. Most clients return to their day immediately with only a light flush.
How often should I come?+
A series of 3–4 sessions, 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every 3–6 months.
Can I wear makeup after?+
Yes, after 12 hours — mineral makeup is gentlest on freshly treated skin.
Is it safe with melasma?+
Yes, with adjusted settings. We assess pigment depth at consultation first.
Laser Acne Treatment
View treatmentWill it make me break out first?+
A short purge in week one is common as congestion clears. It settles quickly.
How many sessions?+
Usually 4–6 sessions, 2–3 weeks apart, then maintenance as needed.
Can this replace my acne medication?+
It complements your routine. Never stop prescribed medication without your doctor.
Does it help acne scarring?+
It softens post-acne marks. For textured scarring we usually pair it with microneedling.
Laser Pigmentation Treatment
View treatmentWhy do my spots look darker afterwards?+
That's the treated pigment rising to the surface. It flakes off naturally within 5–10 days.
Will the pigment come back?+
Sun exposure is the main trigger. Daily SPF 50 is what protects your result.
Is melasma treatable?+
It is manageable rather than curable. We use conservative settings and a maintenance plan.
How many sessions?+
Sun spots often clear in 1–3 sessions; melasma needs an ongoing series.
Microneedling
View treatmentDoes it hurt?+
Topical numbing is applied for 20 minutes first; most clients feel light pressure and vibration only.
How soon can I wear makeup?+
After 24 hours, and mineral makeup is best for the first few days.
How many sessions for scarring?+
Typically 4–6 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart, for meaningful scar improvement.
Can I combine it with laser?+
Yes, on alternating visits. We'll build the sequence together.
Cryo Tone
View treatmentIs it uncomfortable?+
It's cold but tolerable — most clients find it energizing rather than painful.
Is there downtime?+
None. You can go straight back to your day, including the gym.
How many sessions do I need?+
A series of 6–8, usually once or twice a week.
Is this the same as fat reduction?+
No. Cryo Tone firms and smooths; Cryo Sculpt targets stubborn fat pockets.
Cryo Sculpt
View treatmentWhen will I see results?+
Changes begin around week 4 and reach full effect at 8–12 weeks.
Is it a weight-loss treatment?+
No. It targets stubborn, diet-resistant pockets in people near their stable weight.
How many sessions per area?+
Many areas respond well to 1–2 sessions, spaced at least 6 weeks apart.
Is the numbness normal?+
Yes — temporary numbness or tenderness for up to 2 weeks is a common, expected response.
Buccal Face Therapy
View treatmentDoes it hurt?+
It's deep work. Some points feel intense, but pressure is adjusted to you throughout.
Will it help my TMJ?+
Many clients report meaningful relief from jaw tension, though it isn't a medical treatment.
How often should I book?+
Once a month is a good rhythm; some clients start with a short weekly series.
Is it hygienic?+
Always. Fresh sterile gloves are used for every intra-oral session.
